When the sun gets higher in the sky and the water sparkles invitingly, it\u2019s the best time to enjoy the beach \u2013 alone, in pairs or with your family. Pack a picnic basket and beach equipment and spend a day in the warm sun. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Families with children know how to make best use of the beach and never want to leave. Neither do adults want to lose a minute of our short summer. Those who have visited Saaremaa before may have already found their own beach. If you are coming here for the first time, you will definitely wonder which beach to choose \u2013 whether on the north or south coast, whether the beach is sandy or rocky.<\/p>\n

In Kuressaare, a stone’s throw from the castle, there is the pleasant sandy Titerand<\/strong>, where both large and small can enjoy different activities while lifeguards keep a watchful eye on all swimmers. There is a summer caf\u00e9 on Titerand and this place is also loved by winter swimmers.<\/p>\n

A short drive from Kuressaare takes you to the popular sandy beaches of M\u00e4ndjala<\/strong> and J\u00e4rve,<\/strong> where the water is clean and the coastline long. You can also cycle along the safe light traffic road to the beach.<\/p>\n

The islands are full of wonderful beaches; for example, Tuhkana<\/strong> beach with its crystal clear water or J\u00f5iste<\/strong> beach in northern Saaremaa.<\/p>\n

Karuj\u00e4rv<\/strong> is the largest lake on the island, with a magnificent outdoor pool and is therefore a highly valued bathing and recreation area.<\/p>\n

If you travel by car, you can choose a new bathing place every day. There may not be a caf\u00e9 on many of the beaches, but you can grab a light meal at the nearest village shop.<\/p>\n

There are changing rooms on several beaches, but there are also swimming places where they are replaced by juniper bushes and rushes.<\/p>\n

Neighbouring islands are also full of beaches \u2013 the sea is all around and everyone can find a favourite place to enjoy. If you haven’t heard yet, there is also Limo<\/strong> beach on Ruhnu island where the sands sing.<\/p>\n

The locals will be very grateful if you leave a clean beach behind so that the next holidaymakers will also have a nice time.<\/p>\n
